Pianist, composer and teacher, John Newell, will perform works that have a special meaning for him and he will share a story about each of the selections. Featured works will include a lively Prelude and Fugue by J.S. Bach, the tuneful Sonata in A Major by Franz Schubert, short works by Brahms and four atmospheric Preludes by Claude Debussy. He will conclude the program with his own composition, Variations on Amazing Grace, composed in 1998. There is no admission charge. Donations to the library's piano tuning fund are appreciated.
